Disley started life in 1951 when Norman & Mavis began NM Williams. Originally from Liverpool and with a legal background, the Williams’ opened their first factory in central Belfast.
The factory manufactured a range of items from legal attire to bed linen & lingerie and ran a number of different brands including Personally, Pheonix and Barry Disley. The clothing side of the business flourished with shirt manufacturing becoming a particular area of expertise.
Brand names were simplified over the years and Disley’s success dominated to a point where today, the company exclusively manufactures and supplies corporate, uniform and hospitality clothing.
